Ryan Cooper.

Mildly maniacal multipotentialite with over 20 years experience in tech and a ludicrous passion for photography.

A little more about me

As a child, I was an odd duck. Not because I loved adventure, plenty of kids love to climb trees and do battle with imaginary beasts. I was just stubbornly me, and no one was ever going to change that.

In everything I do, the typical path is the one that terrifies me. Normalcy is my Kryptonite. Some would say that I have a lust for making life difficult. In truth, I simply find joy in carving my own road, my way.

I was lucky enough to grow up in Alberta, spending virtually every vacation in the Canadian Rockies. I am blessed with a pair of magnificent parents who made sure that I had the opportunity to continually experience Canada's incredible paradise. As an adult, I've bounced back and forth across Canada. I spent the better part of a decade in Vancouver but have since returned to Toronto chasing adventure and creativity every step of the way.

Engineering / leadership

Great ideas,
built with pizazz.

My career in tech started over twenty years ago as a Front End Developer. These days, I focus on helping developers do their best work.

As an engineering manager, I bring a practical, people-first approach to technical decisions, team health, and the steady work of making good technology.

I work at the intersection of engineering, leadership, and communication: creating clarity when things are complex, supporting teams through change, and keeping the work connected to the people it's meant to serve.

Cinematic,
Photography.

I dabble in a variety of photographic genres always looking to bring a cinematic flare to everything I create.

Curiosity for
personality.

I yearn to always have the viewer wondering about the story in the frame.

Every pup deserves to showcase just how mighty they are.
